An announcement has been made about what’s ahead in the ITV reality show
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here has confirmed the return of a fan favourite that hasn’t been seen on the show in six years.
Those who follow the ITV reality show know that it returned just over a week ago with ten new famous faces ditching their lives of luxury for the popular programme’s camp in the Australian jungle.
They have since been joined by two latecomers – presenter Vogue Williams and Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson – and the trials continue to come in thick and fast for a couple of the campmates – including Manchester’s very own Aitch and Angry Ginge, real names Harrison Armstrong and Morgan Burtwhistle.
It’s now been revealed that a live trial will be shown for the first time in a number of years – and this year involves a drinking competition with some “delicious” ingredients.
The last time a live trial was seen in the Australian jungle was in 2019, when it featured the likes of Caitlyn Jenner, Roman Kemp and Ian Wright among others. A live trial was also shown when the series had to be filmed in Wales in 2020 because of travel restrictions caused by the pandemic.
This year, the live trial is called Cocktails Of Cruelty, and is a head-to-head drinking trial. Each celebrity taking part must pick two “delicious” jungle ingredients for their fellow contestant to drink.
The first in the pair to down their beverage and put their glass back on the table will win. Previous live trial moments include You Are What You Eat host Gillian McKeith fainting live on air in 2010.
It comes after the campmates face an evacuation from camp in the midst of an Australian storm. The celebrities moved from camp to the Bush Telegraph as the jungle, in New South Wales, faced volatile weather on Monday afternoon, local time.
It comes after the Bureau of Meteorology in Australia issued a warning for storms that could produce “giant hail and destructive winds” in south east Queensland and north east New South Wales, where the ITV show is filmed.
A show source said: “Our health and safety weather contingencies kicked in and we evacuated the celebrities immediately to the Bush Telegraph until the storm passed and it was safe to return to camp.”
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! airs every day at 9pm on ITV1, STV, ITVX and STV Player.
