I’m A Celebrity fans say star 'handled that so well' after Jack Osbourne erupts into tears

Jack is competing on the ITV series just four months after his dad’s death

I’m A Celebrity fans said that a star in the jungle ‘handled that so well’ after Jack Osbourne erupted into tears as he spoke about his dad’s Ozzy Osbourne’s death once again.

Ozzy passed away at the age of 76 on Tuesday, July 22, just weeks after a Black Sabbath reunion concert held in his home city of Birmingham. The music icon, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in 2019, was ‘with his family and surrounded by love’ at the time of his passing.

His family said in a statement at the time: “It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning.

“He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.”

Just four months on from Ozzy’s death, Jack was seen earlier in the week heading into Australia to compete on the latest season of Ant and Dec’s popular ITV series, where he’s joined by the likes of Emmerdale actress Lisa Riley, Kelly Brook and rapper Aitch.

Quickly winning fans over with his honesty, Jack’s main role has been serving as the camp’s cook, appearing to keep a close eye on how things are done when someone else takes on the dinner duties.

On Saturday night (November 22), Jack was seen crying heavier than he had before when he previously discussed his dad, when comedian Eddie Kadi asked him how he’s feeling in the wake of Ozzy’s passing.

“Just his energy, he had this force, so hard to describe, he had this energy, it was like, he swallowed the galaxy and didn’t know what to do with it, it’s the only way to ever describe it.

“He could say nothing and its just this authentic energy with him, I miss it, and his humour, f**k he was funny, definitely miss his jokes,” he said.

Beginning to get extremely emotional by the campfire, Eddie made up a distraction to bring Jack into the woods and offer him a hug and some words of encouragement.

Speaking on his own in The Bush Telegraph after getting emotional, Jack said: “I’m feeling ok, Eddie was asking some questions about my dad, I got a bit emotional, I feel like I can be vulnerable about this kind of stuff.”

Those watching the episode at home rushed to X, previously known as Twitter, to praise Jack for being honest about his emotions and to praise Eddie for the manner in which he handled it.

@r0siec0 said: “‘I wasn’t talking to jack the leader, i was talking to someone’s child’ Eddie handled that so well, he’s the sweetest #ImACeleb.” @naseem028 added: “Eddie taking Jack away from everyone when he saw him get emotional #ImACeleb.”

@Imogen_Alanah wrote: “Eddie taking Jack away so he can let it all out bless him #ImACeleb.” @eds_afterglow stated: “Eddie pulling Jack away for a private chat so he could let it all out privately, what a man #imaceleb #imacelebrity.”

@koalaluce commented: “People slagging off Jack crying about his dad need a reality check. He literally lost his dad about 4 months ago, not 4 years ago. Just shows how many people don’t have any sympathy. #ImACeleb.” @fadeeeintoyou posted: “Eddie leading Jack out of the main camp so he didn’t have to cry in front of everyone is actually so sweet icl #ImACeleb.”
