Influencer Paul Kim shared the devastating news on New Year’s Eve after his five-year-old son’s battle with severe flu.
An influencer’s five year old son has tragically passed away after battling a severe bout of influenza. The heartbreaking news of Paul Kim’s son Micah’s death on New Year’s Eve was confirmed via the star’s Instagram account.
In an emotional video, the social media personality described the ordeal as the most challenging experience he has ever faced.
Addressing his followers, he shared that his son had been “fighting” for “11 long hard days” before succumbing to the illness. “We are so proud of him,” expressed Paul.
“I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart as his dad, on behalf of my family, for all the ways you guys prayed and lifted us up during this time.”
He continued: “This incredibly difficult, impossible time for our family. It’s been the hardest thing I’ve ever been through in my life and it continues to be.”, reports the Mirror.
Despite desiring privacy, Paul felt compelled to inform his followers about the family’s tragic loss.
He stated: “As much as this time I just want to have privacy and have time to mourn with my family I felt like I owed all of you an update, just out of gratitude.
“Micah is already in Heaven at work, seriously, so many testimonies, so many ways in which God is using the light in my five-year-old to truly save souls and change the world.”
Expressing his pride as a father, he said, “Our hearts are broken,” but added, “But we trust in the Lord. Please pray for my family and me as we learn how to live by faith and not by sight.”
The family had believed their son experienced a “miraculous” recovery on Christmas Day. Unfortunately, their hopes were dashed.
A GoFundMe page established to help with the costs of the youngster’s hospital treatment shared what appeared to be positive news on December 25.
“We had good news today that Micah’s heart keeps improving and getting better! ! ! ,” the organiser posted. “This is huge!”.
“Please keep praying for his brain swelling to go down and for his complete healing in Jesus’ name, through the intercession of Fulton Sheen. God bless you all, hug your loved ones today.”
Tragically, less than a week later, Paul had to deliver the devastating news that his son had passed away. Supporters immediately offered their condolences following his announcement.
One user commented: “There are no words. I am so sorry.
“Your faith during this most unbearable of trials has been an inspiration to even more people than you know.”
Another person added: “Our hearts are with you. We are so deeply sorry for your loss and are lifting you and your family up in prayer. Your faith has been such an inspiration, and we trust that the Lord is holding Micah close in His loving mercy.”
A third supporter said: “Paul and Maggie, our hearts are broken for you guys. Praying for you and your family. Little Micah, pray for us all to run the race well.”
