‘It got to boiling point’
KYREN WILSON has finally solved his cue problem – after his UK Championship “hissy fit” which went viral.
The Warrior, 34, was fuming and close to suffering a “mental breakdown” when his old cue was broken in a freak accident before his first-round exit to Elliot Slessor in York.

His emotional TV outburst was seen by millions online and many feared for his mental wellbeing as he revealed his struggles.
For this week’s Masters, the world No.2 has got a new piece of equipment weighing 18-and-a-half ounces – which he unearthed a month ago – and he feels ready to tackle the second half of the season.
In a 6-2 first-round win over Si Jiahui, Wilson was close to a 147 in frame two – he broke down on 80 – but then finished off with breaks of 59, 101 and 105.
Former world champion Wilson said: “I had to put a ferrule and tip on my old cue the day of my first-round match at the UK. It got to boiling point where I felt I’d let people down.
“I don’t like fans to go away feeling like they haven’t had value for money. I felt a bit silly. I had to reset.
“I’ve got a cue that I am really happy with. I’m excited to come here and happy I managed to deliver.
“When you go out there and can’t trust what you are using, you’ve got no chance.
“I finally trust what I have got. Thank you to all the cuemakers and everyone who has helped me find the solution.

“It was a horrible, horrible time at the UKs. You are questioning where your career is going. You’re questioning if you can get to what you are capable of. It was frustrating.
“No two bits of wood are the same. It was like finding a needle in a haystack. Thankfully I have found something to work with.
“I think this cue is better. There is a bit more power in it. A bit more whip. I am learning how to control that.
“I have had to modify my cue action. The cue is a bit lighter. I have a happier life now I am sorted”
