Coronation Street star Andy Whyment has shared an unaired clip from the Corriedale crossover episode showing Kirk Sutherland meeting Sam Dingle and fans are gutted they didn’t get to see it
Fans of Coronation Street and Emmerdale were disappointed to discover a scene failed to air during the Corriedale crossover episode.
Andy Whyment, famed for his portrayal of Corrie’s Kirk Sutherland, posted the unused footage on his Instagram page.
The clip featured his character encountering Emmerdale’s Sam Dingle, portrayed by James Hooton. Both characters are renowned for being somewhat simple-minded, making their interaction particularly amusing.
The pair had become lost whilst searching for relatives in the hospital, pausing to examine a map together. Kirk enquired of Sam: “Can you make head or tail of that? I can’t.”
However, the equally bewildered Emmerdale character confessed he was just as confused.

During their brief conversation, both revealed they were trying to locate people in A&E following the crash, with Sam explaining: “Aaron were in one of the cars, Charity in another and I think our Cain’s been shot again. So…”
He shrugged before Kirk responded: “That’s a lot! Friends of yours?” Sam clarified they were relatives, describing them as “the Dingle clan.”, reports the Express.
Kirk found the family name highly entertaining. “Dingle? You’re called Dingle?” he questioned before erupting into laughter.
However, Sam appeared hurt as he replied: “There’s nowt funny about it,” leading Kirk to apologise. “Anyway, I should get on, Peanut will be wanting her dinner,” Sam concluded.
He gestured towards his little sausage dog, which he’d brought along to the hospital. Sam bent down to pet the dog affectionately before appearing concerned, remarking: “I’m not sure they’re allowed in here, you know.
“Right. Yeah. Course,” Sam responded. “It’s a good job I ran into you. Someone with smarts!” Both chuckled before exchanging well wishes and going their separate ways.
Andy captioned the footage, explaining: “Our scene never made CORRIEDALE but here it is Kirk and Sam. It was great to work with @hootonjames.”

Viewers were disappointed that the scene didn’t make the final edit. They expressed their frustration in the comments, with one lamenting: “Brilliant, why wasn’t this aired? Would of fit in perfect.”
Another commented: “We were robbed of seeing ‘the meeting of the 2 brain cells’ scene. Hopefully make it in the next crossover.”
One more questioned: “Why did they cut this out it’s so good?”.
On Monday (January 5) evening, Corriedale delivered a series of dramatic twists, including a double murder, a heartbreaking diagnosis, and a surprise return.
In an unprecedented move, Coronation Street and Emmerdale combined into one shared universe for a special episode that put multiple fan-favourite characters at serious risk.
