I’m A Celebrity fans have been left baffled by a major blunder on set that they noticed in the background as contestants competed in the final challenge of this year’s season

Eagle-eyed I’m A Celebrity spotted a huge blunder during the latest show. Viewers have joked that an ITV crew member should be fired for hanging the Union Jack upside down in the background of tonight’s Worst Day Cake challenge.

Viewers spotted the mistake within seconds of the trial beginning, and quickly flooded X, formerly known as Twitter, with complaints. The upside-down flag was displayed directly behind Angry Ginge as he faced one of the most fear-inducing trials of the series, but fans seemed more distracted by the blunder than the contestant’s panic.

One viewer fumed: “Could at the very least put the Union Jack the right way up!!!” While another tagged the presenters directly, joking: “Ant and Dec, someone needs sacking, the Union Jack is upside down.”

Others joined in with, with another post reading: “Whoever put that flag up needs to do a bush tucker trial for being a dips**t and putting it up wrong. PS anyone who says it’s not upside down because it’s in Australia isn’t as funny or clever as they think they are.”

Another confused fan asked: “Is the flag upside down because they are in Australia?” Meanwhile, a baffled audience member angrily queried: “Is it so difficult to get the Union flag the correct way up?”

Meanwhile, another baffled viewer at home went on to pen: “The British flag is upside-down ffs come on sort it out!” The behind-the-scenes slip-up overshadowed what was supposed to be one of the most dramatic trials of the series so far. Angry Ginge, whose real name is Morgan Burtwistle, faced his biggest fear head-on in the Worst Day Cake challenge.

The internet personality was forced to crawl through a giant, transparent cake-shaped structure on his hands and knees, moving through six separate chambers filled with oversized spiders, which he has a phobia of.

Each section contained a mini challenge which Ginge had to complete to collect gold stars while racing against the clock. From the moment he entered the first chamber, it was clear he was struggling.

As Ant and Dec looked on with concern, he muttered repeatedly: “It’s a mindset, it’s a mindset, it’s all a mindset…I can’t believe I’m doing this.”

Trying to reassure himself, he continued: “They’re not gonna hurt me…If one bites me, I’m Spiderman. Call me Peter Parker.” Ant quipped back: “You’ve got this, Peter Parker,” earning a shaky “Thank you” from the contestant.

But his attempt to stay calm evaporated instantly when a spider crawled onto him. Angry Ginge was left screaming “It’s on my leg!” as viewers watched anxiously through their fingers.

Incredibly, the Twitch streamer managed to push through his terror and actually earned all six stars available, which he celebrated with a little jig after escaping the cake.
