I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! viewers have called out the ITV campmates for their ‘ungrateful’ attitude in the latest episode
ITV audiences have criticised the I’m A Celebrity contestants for their ‘ungrateful’ attitude towards Martin Kemp just hours before his departure.
During Thursday’s (December 4) instalment, the music icon tackled a Bushtucker Trial with fellow campmate Tom Read Wilson. The pair found themselves in a fake library deep in the jungle, with Tom charged with locating specific books using Martin’s guidance.
True to I’m A Celebrity form, the challenge featured an array of unsettling creatures being poured over Martin, whilst additional jungle beasts lurked amongst the book collection.
The unlikely duo managed to secure an impressive five out of seven stars during the trial, guaranteeing five meals for the entire camp. But when they delivered this news to their fellow contestants, the response was lukewarm.

Musician Aitch revealed to the Bush Telegraph that he “expected more from Tom,” whilst other campmates emphasised they still had “got loads of rice” available, reports the Daily Star.
These remarks visibly deflated former EastEnders star Martin. Speaking privately to the Bush Telegraph afterwards, he admitted: “It was a [more] mixed reaction than I thought.
“They had smiles on their faces, but when I heard the words ‘Well we’ve always got rice’ I thought ‘ugh’. That kind of, it summed it up a little bit.”
Home viewers rushed to champion Martin and Tom’s achievements, with numerous fans labelling the camp as unappreciative for treating five stars as anything less than a huge win.
On X, formerly known as Twitter, one viewer wrote: “Aww poor Martin – didn’t like that reaction! 5/7 is basically 8.5/12 – simmer down with your “we’ve always got rice” passive aggressiveness. #ImACeleb.”
Another commented: “Aw saying at least they got rice, making Martin not feel 100% how is 5/7 not good madness #imaceleb.”
A third added their thoughts: “Martin finally doing a trial and they treat [him] like a c*** #imaceleb,” while a fourth pointed out: “They do realise there’s only 7 of them right? They don’t seem too impressed by Martin and Tom getting 5 out 7 it’s the same as getting 10 out of 12. #ImACeleb.”
Another viewer chimed in: “Well done Martin and Tom. Take no notice of those whingers. Trials have been too easy this year. That’s why they’ve done well. #imaceleb.”
And a final comment read: “5/7 is good you ungrateful lot #imaceleb.”
