JD Wetherspoon pubs to launch January sale with 99p pints
The pub chain’s January sale will run for just under two weeks and includes some food deals too.
East Lancashire has East Lancashire has five Wetherspoons- The Boot Inn, Burnley; The Postal Order, Blackburn; The Old Chapel, Darwen; Accrington’s The Commercial Hotel, and finally, The Wallace Hartley in Colne.
Wetherspoon founder and chairman, Tim Martin, said: “Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to have a sale in the pub too.
“The range of drinks and food on sale in the pub is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes. We have included a large selection of low and non-alcoholic drinks.
“I believe that the January Sale will prove popular with our customers. As always, staff at the pub will serve customers responsibly.”
When is Wetherspoons’ January sale?
The January sale at Wetherspoons begins on Friday, January 2 and will end on Thursday, January 15.
In Scotland, the offer will begin on Saturday, January 3.
Wetherspoons drops drink prices to as low as 99p
Here are the discounted drinks and the prices during the Wetherspoons January sale:
- Worthington’s (pint) – 99p
- Johnnie Walker Black Label (25ml including a mixer) – £1.99
- Tanqueray gin (25ml including a mixer) – £1.99
- Coldwater Creek wine (250ml glass of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Rosé, Merlot) – £2.99 each
A full range of low-alcohol and alcohol-free drinks will also be available – Guinness 0.0, Corona Cero, Brewdog Punk AF, Stella Artois Alcohol Free, Erdinger Isotonic, Thatchers Zero, Koppaberg Alcohol Free, Gordon’s 0.0 Pink Gin at £1.69 each and Beck’s Blue and Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa for 99p each.
Wetherspoons’ January sale on food
Some food options are discounted too, including an 11-inch Margherita Pizza and a crunchy chicken burger, served with chips or a side salad, for £4.99 with a soft drink and £6.52 with an alcoholic drink.
A jacket potato with a choice of one filling (tuna mayo, coleslaw, chilli bean non-carne, cheese, baked beans or roasted vegetables) will cost £4.99 including a soft drink and £6.52 for an alcoholic drink. An extra filling or side salad will cost an additional 99p.
There are three new gourmet jacket potatoes on the menu (the loaded spud, the Mexican spud and the smoky spud) which will cost £6.49 with a soft drink and £8.02 with an alcoholic drink.
It’s worth noting that the prices at Wetherspoons’ other 200 pubs may vary.

Wetherspoons to open first pub in mainland Europe
In November, JD Wetherspoon announced it would be opening its first pub in mainland Europe.
It shared plans for a bar to open at Alicante airport in Spain.
The pub, which will be called the Castell de Santa Barbera, is set to open at the end of January and will be based in departures, allowing UK holidaymakers to visit before they fly back home.
