Jewellery stolen during burglary at Woodthorpe home
North Yorkshire Police is appealing for information after the incident in the Woodthorpe area.
The force said the burglary reportedly happened between 11am on Wednesday, December 3, and midnight on Monday (December 8).
A police spokesperson said “unknown suspects” entered the property and stole several items, most of which were jewellery, from the home.
North Yorkshire Police has issued a photograph of an oval shaped pendant which it said the force is “particularly interested in any information” about “due to its distinctive and recognisable design”.
The other items stolen included the owner’s engagement ring, described as a gold band with a single diamond stone and slightly chased shoulders.
Police said the owner’s mother’s engagement ring, a gold band decorated with three diamond stones with “notable signs of resizing”, was also taken.
Thieves also made off with a chunky gold ring with a blue stone.
Further items stolen were a silver sapphire pendant and a Saint Christopher medallion, as well as a silver charm bracelet, a diamond maple leaf brooch, a diamond lapel badge and ten rings.
An old powder compact box, decorated with the image of a woman, containing two pendants was also taken. Police said the box included one drop shaped gold and amethyst pendant and one oval shaped pendant.
Anyone with information about the items is asked to email sophie.howarth@northyorkshire.police.uk or phone 101 and ask for Sophie Howarth.
