Josh Homme’s My London: From Brutto to the Clink Prison Museum

Josh Homme thought he knew London until he truly got lost in what the city has to offer.

I love walking through Hyde Park. And I love getting lost in London which is easy to do here.

I love to walk through Borough Market, but besides the good food, I like going to the Clink. It’s an OG prison museum. Back in the day, if the Thames overflowed its banks, it would run into the basement of the Clink. It’s so fascinating.

I went to this place called Cahoots a few times. Then I realised it was a touristy place. But just around the corner, there’s a place in the basement that is super 1920s and nobody is ever there.

James Smith & Sons. That place is the bomb. You never knew you needed an umbrella with a bulldog’s head and then you find a cane with a tiger on the top.

Is this a bad time to announce my campaign to run? The first thing I’d do is throw a big party. There’s a lot of difficult things going on in the world and it is the job of an army of people to make you afraid, and they do a good job at it. But I’d give them the week off and have a parade of joy. It would go deep into the night because people do what they want in the night. Food and drink and dance.
