They’re the final headliners to be announced for Newmarket Nights this year

Festival favourites the Kaiser Chiefs are the final headliners to be announced for the Newmarket Nights summer season of live outdoor music. The indie rockers are set to return to Newmarket Racecourses for the first time since their blistering headline set in 2019.

They will take to the stage in the afternoon on Summer Saturday Live, August 22. Fronted by Ricky Wilson and formed in Leeds in 2000, the Kaiser Chiefs are one of the leading bands of their generation thanks to a string of anthemic hits such as Oh My God, I Predict A Riot, Everyday I Love You Less and Less and Hole In My Soul.

They have released eight original studio albums including their Mercury nominated debut, Employment which sold over two million copies, its No 1 follow up, Yours Truly, Angry Mob, which went twice-platinum in the UK alone and Education Education Education and War which entered the UK Album Charts at No 1.

Their top 10 singles including the No 1 smash Ruby and they have collected three Brit Awards and an Ivor Novello Award for Album of the Year.

Newmarket Nights combines a thrilling programme of horse racing followed by headline performances from some of the nation’s biggest music stars.

General sale tickets for the Kaiser Chiefs show will be on sale at 10am on Friday (January 30) here. There will be a presale at 10am on Thursday (January 29) for those on the Newmarket Racecourses mailing list (register here).
