Two women and a man were killed after they were shot on Walker Street in Lake Cargelligo, in the New South Wales’ Central West, on Thursday
Three people have lost their lives in a shooting incident in a NSW rural town, sparking a major police manhunt for the suspected gunman.
Two women and a man were fatally shot on Walker Street, close to Yelkin Street, in Lake Cargelligo, located in the state’s Central West, at approximately 4.40pm on Thursday.
A fourth person, a man, was transported to hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition.

Officers from Central West Police District responded to the scene after receiving reports of the shooting. It is believed the suspected shooter, who is subject to an apprehended violence order (AVO), fled the scene in a council-owned vehicle.
Authorities are currently working to trace the vehicle as part of their ongoing search efforts. A crime scene has been established and detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, reported the Mirror.
The public has been advised to stay away from the area, whilst local residents have been instructed to remain indoors as the operation progresses. Further details are anticipated to be released by police as they emerge.
Lake Cargelligo is a small community situated roughly three hours south-west of Dubbo. With a population of approximately 1,500 people, the town is particularly renowned for water sports including sailing, kayaking, water-skiing and swimming.
