Langton Road, Norton: plans submitted for up to 90 homes
An outline planning application for up to 90 houses with point of access has been made for land south of 159 Langton Road in Norton.
Johnson Mowat Planning, based in Leeds, has submitted the plans on behalf of The Crossley Grandchildren’s Trust.
Last month a long awaited application on land adjacent to Norton Lodge, Beverley Road, Norton, approved unanimously by North Yorkshire Council’s Strategic Planning Committee subject to 66 conditions.

The plans, submitted by Barratt and David Wilson Homes, and Taylor Wimpey include 645 homes comprising of 12, one bedroom properties, 142 two bedroom houses 272 three bedroom and 219 four bedroom homes with parking and landscaping.
A new link road from Beverley Road to Hugden Way is included in the application along with outline planning permission for the building of a primary school.
The application was approved despite concerns over the impact on the town’s medical services, the proposed siting of a primary school and the effects of 10,000 additional toilet flushes a day on the sewerage system.
