It came under fire from viewers who branded the guest lineup ‘boring’ and ‘repetitive’
Patrick Kielty was back in the hosting seat for this year’s edition of The Late Late Show GAA special.
Kicking off with a rendition of ‘The Star of the County Down’ in homage to Kielty’s roots, the studio audience came decked out in their country colours for the annual event.
After the theme of tonight’s show was revealed, the public let their feelings be known, with the lineup coming in for particular criticism.

One viewer commented: “Jesus Wept…..not Marty Morrissey again….What a boring Guest list…. Pathetic as usual.”
A second remarked: “Marty Morrissey. Enough said,” reports Galway Beo.
A third audience member posted: “That’s such a disappointing lineup. So repetitive.”
Another disheartened viewer added: “Not the most inspiring line up no disrespect – all great GAA People, but most have been churned out repeatedly. Plenty of true legends that would have been of far more interest. Marty Morrissey has been on everything at this stage except Love Island or the Traitors.”
Accompanying Patrick this evening was the Dublin GAA dynasty, the Brogans.
They reflected on decades of Dublin success, the sibling and generational competition that moulded them, and what it genuinely meant to mature in a household where football sits at the heart of family life.
Kielty was also accompanied this evening by RTÉ sports broadcaster Marty Morrissey and Cora Staunton, who shared their most treasured GAA recollections. Conor Moore also dropped by to deliver some side-splitting impressions – including Patrick himself.
Accompanying Conor was Laurita Blewitt, host of the Tommy Hector and Laurita podcast, for a rapid-fire GAA quiz.
The programme wasn’t limited to the RTÉ studios, as Jacqui Hurley was presenting live from GAA HQ, where two unsuspecting members of the audience, including Lee from Fermanagh, were swept away from the studio for an unprecedented Late Late challenge beneath the floodlights.
