List of road closures for York's Brass Monkey Half Marathon

The 13.1-mile race around the city will begin at 10am on Saturday (January 18).

Runners will make their way from the Racecourse to Bishopthorpe Road through to Appleton Road, Back Lane and Daw Lane to Appleton Roebuck, before heading back again via Broad Lane.

The following road closures and partial closures will be in place:

  • Bishopthorpe Road to York Racecourse (full closure) – 9.30am until 10.20am; partial closure (one-way only) from 10.20am until 1pm
  • Bishopthorpe Village towards York (one-way only) – 9.30am till 1pm
  • Appleton Road from the Moor Lane junction (full closure) – 9.30am until 12.30pm
  • Daw Lane towards Appleton Roebuck (one-way only) – 9.45am till 12pm.

Last year, the event saw 1,800 selected to take part from 4,700 applicants.

Runners will have two hours and 45 minutes to complete the race.

Free parking is available at York Racecourse, with all runners asked to arrive by 9.20am at the latest.
