Lizzo has hit back at trolls online, urging them to ‘mind their business’ after sharing bodyshaming comments about her weight.

The About Damn Time hitmaker, 37, has undergone an intense body transformation, losing more than 60lbs and regularly updating fans on her weight loss journey.

However, the singer has regularly faced negative comments online during the process, now using her platform to call out those sharing insensitive and cruel messages.

Sharing a picture of her body in a yellow snakeprint bikini on her Instagram page, Lizzo shared a defiant message aimed at those poking fun at her appearance.

‘Today I saw a fat joke about me— in 2025—and it was viral. It was a dumb joke and they were just laughing at me because I’m fat…. Let me be a reminder to everyone to NEVER let anyone shame you for what you choose to do with your body,’ she began in the caption.

‘Because when you’re big they talk s**t, when you’re small they talk s**t. Your body will never be good enough for them because it’s not FOR them. It’s for you.

‘Our bodies carry us, by no means do our skins reflect who we are & it’s the small-minded who believe in anything else…keep on rockin girl!🙌🔥.’

Earlier this year, Lizzo, full name Melissa Viviane Jefferson, revealed a major secret to her weight loss.

Speaking to the Just Trish podcast, she said: ‘I tried everything. Ozempic works because you eat less food, yeah? So if you eat right, it makes you feel full.

‘But if you can just [control your diet] on your own and get mind over matter, it’s the same thing,’ she added, also revealing that stopping her vegan diet also helped.

‘What [caused weight loss] for me was not being vegan. Because when I was vegan, I was consuming a lot of fake meats. I was eating a lot of bread, I was eating a lot of rice and I had to eat a lot of it to stay full.

‘When I started actually eating whole foods and eating, like, beef and chicken and fish, I was actually full and not expanding my stomach by putting a lot of fake things in there that wasn’t actually filling me up.’
