Loose Women Ruth Langsford to reveal all in debut memoir

The 65-year-old TV presenter will delve into how she has tackled the obstacles and how she is finding life now at the age of 65.

Revealing the “exciting news” in a video shared to her Instagram page on Monday (01.12.25) night, Ruth said: “This is my first ever book. I can’t believe it’s here, an actual, physical copy is here.

“I’ve been working on this for a long time. I’ve been asked to do a book many times, and I’ve always said no because I’ve always thought, ‘Who cares about my life, or what I’ve done in my life.’

“But I’m at a certain age now and at a certain stage in my life, and the stories in here are just reflections.

“It’s not really an autobiography; it’s called memoir plus. So it’s stories from my life, actual things that have happened to me, how I’ve dealt with them, the lessons I’ve learned from them, how I’ve coped, how I’m finding life now at 65.”

The former This Morning presenter teased that the stories in Feeling Fabulous are “heartwarming, some are a bit heart-wrenching, and some might make you laugh”.

And it will tell people how the challenges Ruth has faced taught her “how resilient I can be, and the lessons I’ve learned that have shaped the way I live my life today”.

And the Loose Women star hopes the book – which can be pre-ordered now ahead of its publication day on February 26 – makes readers feel good about themselves.

She added, “I really hope you love it. I’ve put my heart and soul into this, and it’s Feeling Fabulous.

“So I hope that’s how it makes you feel if you read it.”

Captioning the video, Ruth added: “More than anything, I hope it encourages you to pause, reflect, and ask yourself: what does Feeling Fabulous mean to you? Because we all deserve to feel a little more fabulous in our lives.

“I can’t WAIT for you to read it! (sic).”

Her announcement comes days after she broke her silence on splitting from TV presenter Eamonn Holmes, 65, after being together for 27 years and married for 14 years, when they decided to break up in May 2024.

Ruth revealed she has been attending counselling sessions and has focused on healing following their separation.

The star, who is still in the process of divorcing Eamonn, told the January issue of Woman and Home magazine: “I started counselling when Eamonn and I separated, and I’m still having it.

“It is very powerful and very useful. It gives me tools to deal with things.”

She added: “My counsellor has probably seen us on TV, but she doesn’t know either of us, so she doesn’t get involved and doesn’t judge.

“She just listens and says, ‘Have you thought about this?’ or ‘Why did you feel like that?’

“I think I know myself very well, so it has just been calming.

“It makes me question how I’m feeling.”

Ruth continued: “When my sister died, friends suggested counselling, and I said, ‘I don’t [want] just [for someone] to tell me that I’m really sad,’ and I still feel like that.”

Eamonn has moved on and now in a relationship with counsellor Katie Alexander, 43, and Ruth has not ruled out getting into a new relationship.

Asked whether she would like to get into a new relationship, Ruth said: “Never say never.

“I haven’t been put off having a relationship.

“I haven’t even been put off marriage, but I’m definitely not actively looking, and part of that is because I’ve realised I’m actually quite good on my own.

“I am independent and quite strong.”

Ruth added: “It has taken me a bit of time [to realise that] and I don’t know what lies ahead, but that chapter now feels quite exciting.

“It’s not as scary as I thought.”
