M65 partially shut after crash with diversions in place

Emergency Services, including Lancashire Police are in attendance. National Highways Traffic Officers are also on scene assisting with traffic management.

Due to the nature of the incident, the road is expected to remain closed for several hours.

Diversion Details

Westbound traffic is being diverted via the solid circle symbol on road signs:

  • Leave M65 at J10 and turn left onto the A671 Cavalry Way.
  • At the A671/A679 roundabout, take the third exit onto the A679 Accringtion Way.
  • At the A679/Bentley Wood Way roundabout, take the third exit onto the A679 northbound.
  • Continue to re-join the M65 at J9.

A spokesman for National Highways said: “If this closure impacts on your planned route, please allow extra journey time. Plan ahead, you may wish to re-route or even delay your journey.
