Macclesfield rewarded Brentford tie, Arsenal host Wigan

Macclesfield must upstage another Premier League side if they are to continue their fairytale FA Cup run after drawing Brentford in the fourth round.

The National League North team produced one of the greatest upsets in the competition’s history when they defeated holders Crystal Palace 2-1 at Moss Rose on Saturday.

John Rooney’s giant-killers are at home once again for their tie against Brentford, who are positioned fifth in the Premier League.

“We said before that we would have liked to get Liverpool, Chelsea or Arsenal, but another Premier League side is incredible,” Rooney said.

Macclesfield

Crystal Palace fell victim to giant-killing Macclesfield who became the first non-League team to knock out the FA Cup holders since 1908-09. The victory was deserved, a well-organised team bettered their opponents throughout the game, only conceding a brilliant free kick by Yeremy Pino in the 90th minute.

Bristol City

In the match between Championship sides Bristol City and Watford, the hosts emphatically beat the visitors 5-1. Emil Riis Jakobsen scored a hat-trick that helped the home side cruise into the hat for the fourth round.
