Malton and Norton flood incident updates (Tuesday)
The River Derwent is currently at 3.1m and rising. Groundwater is at 19.53m and also rising.

North Yorkshire Councillor for Norton Keane Duncan gave the following updates.
Langley Drive, Norton
• Conditions have improved since this morning
• Streetscene have delivered sandbags as a precaution
• It is understood Yorkshire Water have also deployed a tanker
Old Malton
• 4 pumps were mobilised and gullies cleared
• Conditions have now largely returned to normal but still pumping
Castlegate/Sheepfoot Hill, Malt• Flood boards are being installed
• Highways plan to attend first thing in the morning to clean the gullies
Boat Yard, Malton
• Morrisons/Yorkshire Water have mobilised the boat yard pump and switched it on
• This should address the standing water at Sheepfoot Hill and the pooling in the yard
Church Street, Norton
• Morrison, Yorkshire Water’s contractor, are mobilising the pump ready for deployment tomorrow
Cllr Duncan added: “It has been a busy few hours, but the situation is beginning to settle ahead of the expected river rise this evening and into tomorrow.”
