Man charged after armed cops attended disturbance in Glasgow

A 56-year-old was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

A man arrested following a disturbance in Glasgow – which saw armed cops called in – has been charged.

Nearby residents were evacuated from their homes and Police Scotland say armed cops were called in as a precaution.

Roads were closed and nearby residents were forced to leave their properties for nearly 10 hours during the disturbance.

Images showed a large emergency response in the area. One picture showed a police cordon, taping off part of the street with two police cars parked nearby, and a uniformed officer standing guard.

Another showed a firefighter at the scene holding a torch as darkness fell. A fire appliance could also be seen with a large amount of emergency service officers standing in front of the vehicle.

A police spokesperson said: “Around 9.50am on Monday, 15 December, 2025, officers attended an address on Drumlaken Street in Glasgow in connection with an ongoing investigation.

“A disturbance followed and specialist resources, including firearms officers, attended as a precaution.

“A 56-year-old was arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He was due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Tuesday, 16 December, 2025.”
