Manchester City were held to a goalless draw with Sunderland in the Premier League clash at the Stadium of Light
Manchester City‘s Premier League title hopes were handed a blow as they were held to a goalless draw with Sunderland. City failed to get on the score sheet in the clash against the newly-promoted club as they dropped two points in the title race.
Pep Guardiola’s side went into the game five points behind Arsenal in the Premier League table after the Gunners claimed a 4-1 win over Aston Villa earlier in the week, and are now four points adrift after their draw with Sunderland.
City had a goal disallowed in the first half through Bernardo Silva, with the effort ruled out for offside at the Stadium of Light.
Guardiola and Co. were also handed potential injury blows during the game, with Nico Gonzalez being substituted at half-time and Savinho being replaced by Jeremy Doku with a suspected injury soon afterwards.
City will now prepare for their next run of games, which will include plenty more Premier League matches before the end of January.
