The 40-year-old is wanted for 91 breaches including supply and conspiracy to supply class A and B drugs – along with possessing, acquiring and transferring criminal property.

The man was initially arrested in Spain in October of last year, and on Tuesday extradition proceedings were completed with his return to Northern Ireland.

He is expected to appear before Laganside Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.

Sergeant Davey, from the International Policing Unit, described the offences as “very serious” and said they were discovered as a result of “years of detailed investigations” by the PSNI ’s Organised Crime Unit and international partners.

“This extradition demonstrates our commitment to tracking down persons wanted here in Northern Ireland,” they said.

“In this case, PSNI worked closely with the UK’s Joint International Crime Centre and Spain’s Policia Nacional to locate, arrest and extradite this suspect.

“We will continue to work with our national and international partners to investigate serious criminality and bring offenders before the courts.”
