Man in 60s dies after lorry crashes in Drax near Selby
The man in his 60s was driving the white Scania HGV which crashed in Drax, near Selby, in the early hours of Tuesday (January 6), North Yorkshire Police said.
A force spokesperson said the lorry left the road and came to rest in a field at around 2am on Tuesday.
They said the man, from the Humberside area and the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the “best efforts from a member of the public and emergency workers”.
The road was closed until around 1pm on Tuesday for crash investigation work to take place and the vehicle to be recovered, the police spokesperson said.
