Man killed in Ardwick Green South, Manchester crash

Police say the 45-year-old was believed to have been crossing Ardwick Green South in Manchester just after midnight on Sunday, December 7, when the crash happened.

Officers from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit say the driver remained at the scene and no arrests have been made, but they are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

A Greater Manchester Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after midnight, a car was travelling along Ardwick Green South when it collided with a pedestrian who is believed to have been crossing the road.

“Despite the best efforts of emergency services, the pedestrian, a 45-year-old man, died from his injuries.

“His family have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.

“The driver remained at the scene and there have been no arrests.

“As officers work to establish the full circumstances of the incident, they are asking for anyone with CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage to please get in touch.

“This also includes anyone who was in the area at the time of the collision and witnessed any of the incident.”
