A former I’m a Celeb star has opened up about the real reason Martin Kemp was exempt from several trials
Recently evicted I’m A Celebrity contestant Vogue Williams has revealed the real story behind Martin Kemp’s limited trial participation compared to his fellow campmates.
Following her departure as the third celebrity eliminated from I’m A Celebrity… Get Me out Of Here!, Vogue took to Instagram to field fan queries and discuss her puzzling knee problem.
The Irish TV personality, 40, hosted a Q&A session from the luxurious five-star Marriott Hotel in Surfer’s Paradise. Sharing behind-the-scenes details, Vogue disclosed that Martin Kemp was ruled out of certain Bushtucker trials, despite his eagerness to participate, reports the Mirror.
Vogue revealed on social media: “Martin did want to do the trials, but Martin was exempt from some. And I think everybody wanted to do the trials, which was probably unusual for a year.

“I think that because Martin is a bit quieter he was kinda happy to let everybody else go ahead. Martin’s sound, such a nice guy. He’s really, really lovely.”
Stars can be excluded from trials for various factors including medical background and age, though viewers expressed frustration at Martin’s reduced screen time.
During the most recent episode, fans voiced their thoughts on social media after Jack Osbourne tackled the latest challenge whilst Martin was conspicuously absent.
One viewer commented: “Another day another trial Martin isn’t doing”, whilst another questioned: “Is Martin wearing the cloak of invisibility or something like”.
During Vogue’s Q&A, she also revealed how she had picked up a knee injury whilst in camp after viewers noticed her sporting a bandage. She explained: “My knee, it’s so annoying and it’s so stupid and it’s completely my fault.”
She continued: “So there is loads of bridges in the jungle where you can cross to different areas. You walk so long in the jungle by the way, you’re like up and down like a yo-yo and I think I’m fitter now than when I went in.
“So there’s all these bridges and you’re not doing much in there and you’re making up games. So one of the games was let’s try and beat our time to cross the bridge, they’re quite bouncy, so I ran to cross the bridge and I fell and completely busted my knee.
“It was really painful and a bit gross so the medic came straight away because I was on my way to a trial and he fixed me up and then I went to do the trial. It’s just a bit of an annoying cut because it’s really stingy and I hope it doesn’t scar”.
This comes as Ant and Dec revealed that Ruby Wax had become the latest celebrity to be eliminated from the programme. She joins Kelly Brook, Alex Scott, Eddie Kadi and Vogue Williams as the most recent departures from the jungle.
