Shocking footage taken from the house next door appears to show the older woman attempting to confront the gang, with three people dressed in black surrounding her before one of the thugs kicks her on the leg., reports Edinburgh Live.

The woman, wearing a red top, can be heard screaming “help, police” as the alleged robbers appear to load items into the boot of a white car parked in the driveway. The gang then jump in and the car roars off at speed, with the boot still half open.

The East Lothian homeowner claims the yobs “wrecked” the house, and stole a safe, as well as his wife’s jewellery. The couple own a shop in the town, with their takings said to be in the safe.

He said: “It’s absolutely terrible. We own a shop and a lot of the takings were in that safe. They took all the valuables in the house as well, including my wife’s jewellery.
