Millie Bobby Brown Talks David Harbour Friendship After Complaint Reports
Earlier this month, the Daily Mail published a report claiming that in the break between seasons four and five of Stranger Things, Millie filed a claim with seniors at the Netflix sci-fi series, accusing David of harassment and bullying.
The Mail’s article was sparse on details, other than its claim that there were “pages of pages” of allegations, none of which were said to be sexual in nature.
Following this, the two were seen laughing and posing for photographers together at the recent premiere for Stranger Things’ fifth season.
During a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Millie was asked if it was important for herself and David to put on a united front when they were the subject of headlines.
“We’ve been doing that for the last 10 years,” she responded. “I mean, we have always been united in that. We love this show with everything, and we value our friendship more than anything.”
Over the last four seasons of Stranger Things, David’s character has become a father figure to Millie’s on-screen alter-ego Eleven.
Teasing what fans should expect from season five, Millie said it was “really exciting” to “come back together” with David on set.
“It was quite nostalgic because it reminded me so much of season two and three, where we’re both kind of butting heads and she’s growing up, she’s trying to find her own voice and he’s trying to parent, and that dynamic definitely comes back into play once again, and I’m really excited for people to see that,” the British actor enthused.
“And I think some of people’s favourite scenes of Eleven are [her and Hopper], so I’m really excited to have that come to screen once again.”

Earlier this week, Deadline published an interview with Millie in which she spoke about her “great” working relationship with David, despite the recent headlines.
“We work really closely together in the scenes and in preparing for the scenes,” she explained.
“I really am excited for everyone to see the labour of love and hard work we’ve put into the closure of our relationship and what that looks like and to give some of the fans. Especially the Hopper and Eleven fans.
“Those scenes that I feel, I think, are going to be quite impactful. I love it. It makes me want to bring my A game every single time I see that I’m on the call sheet working with him because I know he’s bringing it right back.”
When the Mail’s report was first published, HuffPost UK contacted representatives for Millie Bobby Brown, David Harbour and Stranger Things, but did not receive a response.
Since then, Stranger Things’ co-creator Ross Duffer has claimed: “Obviously, you understand I can’t get into personal on-set matters.
“But I will say, we’ve been doing this for 10 years with this cast, and at this point they’re family and we deeply care about them.”
Executive producer Shawn Levy also said: “At the end of the day, that’s the job. You have to create a respectful workplace where everyone feels comfortable and safe, and so we did everything to build that environment. And we’re proud of the fact that we did so.
“I’ve read a bunch of stories and they range from wildly inaccurate to… there’s so much noise around it. But the truth is that we view this crew and this cast as family, and so we treat each other with respect, and that’s always been bedrock.”
