The Food Standards Agency has issued multiple allergy alerts and recalls covering several products

Over the past week, a number of food items have been pulled from supermarket shelves, with consumers being advised not to consume them. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has issued a series of allergy alerts for products such as mince pies, cakes and frozen foods, which could pose a risk if eaten.

Some of these products contain allergens that are not listed on the packaging, and one is potentially unsafe due to possible salmonella contamination. If you’ve purchased any of these items, it’s recommended not to eat them.

Instead, they can be returned to the store where they were bought for a full refund.

Tesco is recalling its Tesco Free From 4 Christmas Chocolate Flavoured Cupcakes because they may contain milk, which is not declared on the label. This means the product could pose a health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents, reports the Express.

Best before: All dates up to and including 17 January, 2026.

If you’ve purchased this product and have an allergy or intolerance to milk, do not consume it. Instead, return it to your nearest Tesco for a full refund.

Young’s Gastro Lemon and Pepper Fish Fillets

Young’s Seafood is recalling its Young’s Gastro Lemon & Pepper Fish Fillets because they contain mustard, which isn’t declared on the label.

This means the product could pose a health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.

Customers who are allergic to mustard have been advised not to consume this product and to return it to the point of purchase for a full refund.

BOSS Sugar Free Persian Pistachio Nougat

London Wholesalers Ltd is recalling BOSS Sugar Free Persian Pistachio Nougat due to the presence of salmonella in the product. This recall only affects customers in England and Wales.

The FSA stated: “Symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should stay away from work, school, or nursery until you have stopped having symptoms for at least 48 hours to avoid passing it on to others.”

The Bakewell Bakery Shallow Brandy Mince Pies

The Bakewell Bakery is recalling its Shallow Brandy Mince Pies as they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label, posing a health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk products.

Best before: February 2, 3, 4 and 5, 2026.

Brookie Bakes Dubai Bar Pistachio & Knafeh.

Brookie Bakes has issued a recall for its Dubai Bar Pistachio & Knafeh due to the potential presence of peanuts, which are not declared on the product’s label.
