Airdrie singer Nathan Evans and the Saint PHNX Band turned into wedding crashers to celebrate the release of their new single.
But not to worry, loved-up Lanarkshire couple Gary and Lynn Liddell are big fans – and were thrilled with with the surprise special live performance during their reception at Cornhill Castle in Biggar.
Wellerman hitmaker Nathan and the band released the aptly named The Wedding on December 12, ahead of the launch of their new album Angels’ Share next month.
Nathan and Saint PHNX Band shared a reel on Instagram showing them dressed up in a car to “go crash a wedding”.
The happy couple were then seen reacting with shock to the performance.
Gary is originally from Bellshill, while Lynn is from Airdrie and they now live in Blackwood, Lanark.
Lynn commented on the post: “That’s me. Absolute best night ever. Thanks so much guys. you seriously made our night.”
Gary added: “She’s got emerald eyes and I wanna make her mine. That’s my wife.”
Album Angel’s Share promises the spirit, grit and unity that have propelled both acts from Scotland’s grassroots scene to global stages, blending Nathan’s evocative vocals and folk-pop charm with Saint PHNX’s soaring, stadium-ready production.
As reported by Lanarkshire Live, Nathan and Saint PHNX Band previously announced their very own family festival, Heather On The Hill , which will take place at Edinburgh Royal Highland Showground on August 22.
Created by Nathan Evans and the Jukes brothers and highlighted in, the festival will feature artists including Cian Ducrot, Ella Henderson, Skerryvore, Brooke Combe, and NATI, with more acts to be announced.
Reflecting on the launch of Heather On The Hill, ormer postman Nathan said: “Everything that’s happened for me in the last five years has led to this point and to have our own festival named after Heather On The Hill is perfect.
“That song is the reason me, Stevie and Alan are in this position, playing Scottish folk-pop music we love for whole families of fans.
“Who’d have thought, when I uploaded it to TikTok on the window-ledge at my old house, it would lead to this?”
