New collab launched between Uber Eats and Tommy Banks

Michelin-starred chef Tommy Banks has teamed up with Uber Eats to launch a special menu of reimagined British classics, including dishes dating back to the 17th century, as part of the Uber Eats Hosts series.

His “Best of British” menu will be available for a limited time and features a three-course meal for £40 per person that focuses on forgotten British dishes.

Highlights include the Glamorgan sausage – a vegetarian classic made from cheese, leeks, and breadcrumb – served with a tomato-based bean stew and pickled beef, a 17th-century dish made by curing meat in a salt brine for a delicate rose hue.

A fusion of two British favourites, the Chicken Tikka Masala Pie, is served with pilau rice, offering a fresh take on the traditional pie and mash.

Starters on the menu include venison faggot with Old Winchester polenta and Cumberland sauce; prawn and lobster cocktail with Sungold tomato and nasturtium vinegar; and the Glamorgan sausage.

Mains feature pickled beef with bubble and squeak and braised red cabbage; Chicken Tikka Masala Pie with lovage yoghurt and tomato and chilli chutney; and a vegetarian celeriac, truffle, and Tunworth Wellington.

Desserts include an autumn berry crumble with lemon verbena and woodruff whisky custard, and a winter trifle with boozy damsons and caramelised custard.

Tommy said: “I’m incredibly excited to team up with Uber Eats to shine a spotlight on British classics, from regional favourites to nostalgic pub snacks and inventive twists on iconic dishes.

“This menu is all about celebrating the flavours that have shaped our culinary heritage, with a playful, contemporary edge.

“We’ve taken inspiration from the quirky, comforting, and sometimes overlooked dishes of Britain – from retro Salt & Shake–style crisps and pork scratchings to the humble faggot, Glamorgan sausage, and the nation’s beloved prawn cocktail.

“Every dish tells a story, whether it’s a wartime workaround, a Victorian condiment, or a modern twist on a childhood favourite.

“Ultimately, this partnership is about making British classics accessible, exciting, and fun again.

“Whether you’re discovering a regional gem for the first time or revisiting a dish from your childhood, there’s a little bit of nostalgia, surprise, and joy in every dish.”

Susan Anderson, Head of Delivery at Uber, said: “Uber Eats Hosts is about bringing fresh ideas to food delivery and showcasing the incredible selection available at the tap of a button every day on the app.

“Partnering with Tommy Banks to celebrate British cuisine feels especially close to home for me. As a Brit living abroad, I’ve seen first-hand how British food is still underestimated on the global stage, but it’s full of creativity, history, and personality.

“I’m proud to see our food culture being celebrated; this menu challenges old stereotypes and proves just how bold and exciting British cuisine can be.”

For those of us in York, the collaboration is sadly not available – with the release only planned for London, Manchester, and Liverpool – but Tommy is currently hosting his own stand at the York Christmas Market offering pies.

The menu will be available next week and Uber One customers will have exclusive access on the first day, with general availability the following evening.
