Newsboy reckons a three-year-old can score a second career victory at Wolverhampton (8.00) and he also fancies a course and distance winner to go in again earlier on the same card (5.00)
BARRY’S BOY is fancied to build on a promising first run back from wind surgery at Kempton Park last month to lift the Win £250,000 With BetMGM’s Golden Goals Handicap (Div II) (8.00) at Wolverhampton tonight.
The Denis Coakley-trained three-year-old, who gained his sole career victory to date in a handicap at Windsor last May, went under the surgeon’s knife after a third at Southwell in August.
Sent off at 25-1 for a one-mile handicap in Sunbury 26 days ago – his first start for nearly three months – Barry’s Boy finished fourth, beaten half a length and two noses, behind Uniting.
The winner has gone in again since and there is every chance Barry’s Boy will continue on an upward curve now his breathing has been sorted out.
A 1lb nudge up the weights is neither here nor there and, in a race where more than a few come to the party with question marks against them, Barry’s Boy gets the Nap vote to double his career tally.
Earlier on the Dunstall Park card, HILLTOP has plenty going for him in the Read Meg Nicholls’ Blog At betmgm.co.uk Fillies’ Handicap (5.00).
The Dan and Claire Kübler trainee is also 1lb higher in the handicap as a result of a three-quarter-length second to Kindest Nation at Newcastle last time out and scoring over course and distance in September.
