North Yorkshire Police continue Project Servator in York
It was the latest deployment as part of Project Servator, North Yorkshire Police’s long-running campaign against crime in the city.
Uniformed officers, plain-clothes specialists and others work together to disrupt criminal activity and deter or prevent those planning to harm members of the community by appearing unpredictably in well-used areas.
These include the city centre, shopping areas, transport hubs and other places used by lots of people.
The force’s facebook page says: “These patrols are deliberately varied.
“You won’t always know where or when you’ll see us, but you also have a role to play.
“Our officers are always happy to talk about what we’re doing and how you can play your part.”
Officers want members of the public who trust their judgement and if something doesn’t feel right — a behaviour, an item, or a situation — tell them, either by speaking to an officer on patrol or telephone or the internet.
