Peaches Boutique, on Wigan Road, has been shortlisted for The Bolton News’ Best Independent Retail Business Award 2026.

It has built a loyal customer base over the last 15 years, growing from a small home-run business into a shop with customers across the world.

Owner Lyndsey Evans said the nomination came as a surprise.

She said: “I started at home 15 years ago with one rail, about 10 items on it. That quickly progressed and went crazy.

“It just is 24/7.”

Despite its online success, Ms Evans said the business remained rooted in the local community.

“We have loads and loads of regulars who just pop in for a chat. You don’t have to come in and buy something, we’re that much of a community.”

She said many customers had supported the business since its early days, functioning day-to-day from her home.

Ms Evans added: “They’re not customers, they’re like friends.

“It’s just nice. Somebody having a down day can come here, have a cup of tea, and hopefully leave a bit happier.”

To celebrate the latest nomination, the boutique plans to hold one of its regular “Peaches parties”, featuring discounts, treats and giveaways for customers in-store and online.

Ms Evans said: “It was absolutely lovely that somebody has thought of us.

“It would be absolutely amazing.”
