Pedestrian dies after crash in Leyburn in Wensleydale

Pedestrian Benjamin Robinson, 31, was taken to hospital after the collision in his home village of Leyburn on Friday.

Police have now confirmed that he has since died.

A 70-year-old woman was arrested following the crash and has since been released under investigation.

Police were called at 10.10pm on Friday, November 28 to a collision between a red Range Rover car and a pedestrian on Railway Street, by the A684 Harmby Road junction with Yoredale Way.

They later appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam footage  or information that could assist their investigation to come forward.

They renewed that appeal today.
