People say I’ve gone from looking ‘40 to 20’ after ditching Ireland & beauty blunders

WITH the cost of living crisis and gloomy weather, many Irish people are leaving their home behind for sunnier destinations.

One woman, Chloe Arthurs, recently revealed she decided to pack her bags and start a new chapter over 10, 000 miles away in Down Under.

The young expat regularly shares small snippets of her life in Australia – and according to Chloe, this new chapter has even transformed her face.

Prior to packing her bags and getting a one-way ticket, the TikToker (@chloearthurs) would hide behind mega fluttery eyelashes, fierce eyeliner, as well as keep her brows in place with lamination.

But now the woman who lives in Perth looks totally unrecognisable.

It’s a new trend that’s taken the social media platform by storm where dozens of former glam beauties share how living in Australia has changed their appearance.

For many, it’s meant ditching their heavy make-up and learning to embrace their natural selves – similar to a ”glow-down”.

A glow-down, similar to the ”clean girl aesthetic” trend, is rooted in the idea of ”less is more”.

It promotes enhancing natural beauty – rather than covering it up.

”The Australia effect is most definitely true,” she wrote in the caption of the video, which has gone viral.

After starting a new chapter in Down Under, the expat has embraced her skin and no longer applies mega thick falsies – and out are the laminated brows too.

As well as having a more radiant complexion, Chloe has left people stunned with how bright her eyes now look – and how the lifestyle changes has shed years off her appearance.

Four ways to give yourself a glowdown

Thick fluffly lashes are out, so is the fake tan and long nails…here’s how to have the ultimate glow-down in four steps…

The term “glow-down” refers to a woman removing what once was the most popular beauty choices, for a more natural look.

Eyelash extensions – Thick, bold “Russian lashes” used to be all the rage, but nowadays, girls are opt for subtle, individual eyelash extensions to lengthen what they already have.

Nails – Gone are the long, plastic talons, more women are favouring BIAB or gel manis.

Hair colour – Remember when everyone wanted icy white hair? Not anymore! Millions of women are trying to go back to their roots (literally), and have soft blondes, and warm gold tones added to their hair, in a bid to achieve the “old money blonde” look.

Makeup – Sculpting your face shape through the art of contouring is no more. Ladies are adding freckles and sweeping blush across cheekbones instead.

Uploaded just a day ago, the epic makeover has racked up close to an astronomical 6million views, with thousands left in total disbelief.

One person said: ”Girl! You looked like you were in your late 40’s with the lashes, without the lashes very early 20’s!!”

Another agreed, writing: ”Took 10 years off.”

”Girlll you look phenomenal without them lashes!!” a third chimed in.

”Australian magic should be studied. People become so much prettier and visibly happier there,” a fourth wrote.
