Pickering Boxing Day power cut – homes without electricty

The properties in Pickering around Eastgate and close to the town centre have no electricity.

Northern Powergrid said on Friday morning (December 26) that its team had identified the issue which caused the outage and was working to restore power.

A company spokesperson said it expected power to be back on for most of its customers by 3.30pm to 4.30pm on Friday.

Louise Lowes, Northern Powergrid’s director of customer service, said: “We know that power cuts can be really difficult. That’s why our teams are ready to support you and provide you with a 10/10 service while we work as quickly as possible to get your power back on.

“We’ll do our best to support you and get your power back on as soon as we can. In the meantime, if you need help, tell us – we are here to listen and support our customers whenever they need us.”
