Pictures as CSI work at Spennymoor Quinn’s Inn pub after incident
A cordon remains in place outside the Quinn’s Inn on the High Street more than 18 hours after emergency services were called at 12.30am on Satuday (November 22).
Uniformed officers have been posted at the cordon, which includes the B&H Jewellers and Ells beauty salon to each side of the pub, all day, with police also at the back of the boozer.
Tonight a CSI unit van was pictured at the pub with an officer seen loading an evidence box into the van.
The nature of the incident is yet to be confirmed. Durham Police has been contacted for comment.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said previously: “We received a call for an incident at Quinn’s Inn on High Street, Spennymoor at 12.28am on Saturday (November 22).
“We dispatched one ambulance crew but were stood down by police before arriving at the incident.”
A woman who works in the town, and did not want to be named, told the Echo previosuly: “I was getting a lift back last night around 1am maybe and a police car was outside but I don’t think the cordon was up then.
“I’ve come back this morning and it’s all here.”
A 62-year-old local woman added: “Something must’ve happened in that pub as I saw people going in and out of it, but I have no idea what’s happened.
“I don’t think I’ve seen a police cordon like this on the high street but then again I don’t come down here that often.”
One man out for breakfast described the Quinn’s Inn as a “great pub”.
