Police and ambulance are called to Ouse Bridge in York

Police and ambulance crews were called to Ouse Bridge earlier today (January 23) after reports of an incident close to the River Ouse.

Traffic was being diverted around a police van and two ambulance cars on the bridge, with minimal disruption to city centre traffic.

A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service, speaking shortly after 6pm tonight, said: “Ambulance resources are in attendance at an ongoing incident on Ouse Bridge in York where there is a concern for welfare.”

We have contacted North Yorkshire Police for comment and when we receive a reply, we will include it in this story.
