Police ask ‘Welsh Banksy’ to come forward as people wake up to their homes covered in paint

Residents woke up to paint having been sprayed on their homes

Police in Wales are looking for the Welsh “Banksy” after a person was seen spray painting seven different properties in the community. Overnight on Monday, January 19, a person was spotted vandalising the walls of properties across the Rhos and Johnstown areas.

North Wales Police officers in Wrexham are appealing for more information as to the identity of the person pictured on CCTV, who they have named the Rhos Banksy. The force said: “However, instead of deep and meaningful works of art, our answer to Banksy has sprayed: ‘***** ******** is a *****’.”

North Wales Police said: “Can you help to identify the Rhos ‘Banksy’? Overnight on January 19 this person has been sighted spray-painting on the walls of at least seven different properties across the Rhos and Johnstown areas.

“However, instead of deep and meaningful works of art, our answer to Banksy has sprayed: ‘***** ******** is a *****’

“We know this image isn’t perfect, but we would like to speak to the person pictured in connection with the incident.

“If you have any information or CCTV that you think might assist in the identification of our new artist, please report to North Wales Police quoting reference 26000052494.”
