Police cordon around address in Sowerby, near Thirsk

A police cordon has been placed around an address in a North Yorkshire village.

North Yorkshire Police has urged people to “keep away” from the area in Sowerby, near Thirsk.

The force said officers were called to the scene on Sunday morning (December 7).

“We can reassure residents that that it is an isolated incident and there are no risks to the wider community,” a police spokesperson said.

They added: “Please keep away from the area and follow the diversions.”
