Chorlton Street was cordoned off by emergency crews
Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene of an incident in Manchester city centre on Tuesday evening (December 30). An area was cordoned off between Bloom Street and Chorlton Street, beside the multi-storey NCP car park.
Emergency services attended a concern for welfare incident. It’s understood this involved a man on the top floor of the car park, beside the Manchester Coach Station.
The area was cordoned off for around 40 minutes while emergency crews worked at the scene.
Pictures showed multiple police vehicles, fire engines and ambulances in attendance beside the entrance to the NCP car park, along with Enhanced Rescue Units. People were moved away from the scene amid the response.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed they attended a concern for welfare incident. This was later safely resolved and the scene in place was lifted.
The fire service and paramedics from the North West Ambulance Service were called to assist police with the incident. They remained in attendance for around 30 minutes. No further details were confirmed.
