Police make second arrest after Tottenham star Destiny Udogie and pal 'threatened with a gun' in London

A SECOND man has been arrested after Premier League star Destiny Udogie and his pal were allegedly threatened with a gun, SunSport can reveal.

The man was held by police on November 17 in London.

He was not detained on firearms charges, but the arrest is thought to be linked to the September 6 incident.

Officers had been investigating his alleged role in the suspected plot for more than two months.

SunSport previously told how a 31-year-old football agent had been arrested and bailed on suspicion of brandishing a gun in a confrontation in Barnet, North London.

A source told SunSport: “This is a breakthrough in the case and shows how seriously the authorities are taking it.

“The second man was taken into custody in mid-November.”

The fresh revelations come after Udogie, 23, spoke for the first time about the terrifying incident last week.

He told The Athletic: “The club showed me good support and was next to me every day.

“I’m really grateful to them for what they have done and for keeping me and my family safe. It’s really good for me.

“Obviously, it was important (to feel that support). Because it’s a new city for me. It’s my third year (at Spurs) but obviously London is a big city.

“So to be here with my family and my daughter, it’s good to have the club around me.”

Asked if he was shaken by the incident, Udogie added: “Yeah, of course. It was not something I’d wish on anyone.

“It was a shock. But it’s OK, now we look forward.”

Udogie joined Tottenham for around £18m from Serie A side Udinese in 2022.

The left-back has made 12 appearances for the Italian national team and could be selected for their World Cup squad should the Azzurri qualify through the play-offs.

Spurs boss Thomas Frank added that staff and players had rallied around their star after the incident.

He said: “It is a terrible situation to have been in and I can’t speak too much about it as it’s a legal case, as we know, but the club and we have done everything we can to support him.”

A Met Police spokesman told The Sun: “A man has been arrested after a man in his 20s was threatened with a firearm in September.
