Police officers called to incident in Breighmet this evening
A number of police vehicles were deployed to Bury Road just before 5pm.
Eye-witnesses said that one person was spoken to by officers, and there was a large police presence.
The nature of the incident is not known, and Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for more information.
GMP are currently running Operation North Star during the festive season.
A spokesman said: “This forcewide operation will demonstrate our commitment to keeping people and their property safe during what is traditionally one of the busiest periods in local policing. Bringing together neighbourhood policing teams, specialist departments, and partner agencies across Greater Manchester, we are committed to deliver both prevention and enforcement activities in the lead up to Christmas and into the New Year.”
