Police respond following two-car crash that shut M6
The M6 was closed heading northbound between junction 21 and junction 21A near Warrington yesterday evening (December 1).
At around half five, police were called to reports of a crash involving two cars on the motorway.
National Highways officers and Cheshire Fire and Rescue service were also in attendance – with rescue crews needed to get one person out of a vehicle.
Drivers faced diversions during rush hour due to the collision – with the road closed until around 8pm.
Police have now confirmed that a 56-year-old man was treated for “minor injuries” and said no arrests were made.

A spokesman for Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Firefighters have been called to a road traffic collision on the M6.
“Highways Agency and police are also in attendance, along with staff from North West Ambulance Service, who are supporting casualties at the scene.
“Firefighters have been required to get one person out of a vehicle.
“The carriageway has been closed and traffic management is being provided by Highways.”

A spokesperson for Cheshire Police: “At around 5.35pm on Monday 1 December, police were called to reports of a collision on the M6 northbound between junction 21 and junction 21A, near Warrington.
“Officers attended the scene and found the collision involved a black BMW and a blue BMW.
“One of the drivers, a 56-year-old man, sustained minor injuries.
“No arrests were made.”
