A trendy lifestyle brand with over 90 UK stores has just opened in a busy Glasgow shopping centre. It comes amidst one of the busiest times of the year for the high street, with just 10 days left to go until Christmas.

The new store, which measures 5,759 sq. ft, can be found next to JD Sports and will offer everything the independent firm has become known for. This will include its signature use of playful prints, contrasting colours and thoughtful details.

It marks the third Oliver Bonas store in Glasgow, with shoppers able to find two other stores on Gordon Street and Byres Road. The retailer also has a significant presence in Scotland, operating other stores in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and St. Andrews.

With the last-minute Christmas shopping rush hitting the high street, Scots will be pleased to know that the store will offer everything from novelty secret Santa gifts to quirky, on-trend fashion and accessories, alongside bath and body products.

Founded in 1993 by Oliver Tress, the independent retailer now operates a total of more than 91 stores across the UK and the Republic of Ireland. The firm got its name from its founder’s then girlfriend, Anna Bonas, the cousin of Prince Harry’s ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas.

The news has already been met with excitement after the official Shop Silverburn Facebook page announced the opening in a post that read: “We’ve got great news for lovers of stylish homeware, on-trend fashion, and quirky gifts – Oliver Bonas is now open at Silverburn!

“Find the new store next to JD Sports and explore everything from novelty Secret Santa gifts to relaxing bath and body products.”

In response, one shopper gushed: “Looks AMAZING!!! x x x.”

A second excited shopper added: “Love this.”

Oliver Bonas’ opening in Silverburn follows a “record-breaking year” for the Glasgow shopping venue that was named the “Retail Destination of the Year” at the highly prestigious SCEPTRE Awards, beating out competition from the likes of Manchester’s The Trafford Centre and Leeds’ Trinity Centre.

New stores opened in the retail and leisure destination include everything from fashion and beauty to homeware and family-favourites. Just some of the new names include Jo Malone London, Bershka, H Beauty by Harrods, Pull & Bear and Stradivarius.

There’s also been a few firsts for Scotland opening up in the busy shopping centre. This includes a Haribo UK store, alongside an outlet for East-Asian inspired brand KENJI.

David Pierotti, General Manager of Silverburn, said: “We have established Silverburn as a leading destination known for its exciting choice of brands. Oliver Bonas, with its distinctive fashion and homeware collections, makes a strong addition to our line-up and I am sure they will be a favourite with our guests.”
