After five trophyless seasons and £1billion spent, Mikel Arteta badly needs silverware at the end of this campaign.

Perhaps it was down to the busy spell, so Arsenal will benefit with plenty of changes heading to a Pompey side thrashed 5-0 last time out.

Portsmouth are a point above the drop zone in the second tier after four games unbeaten came to an end with that thrashing at Bristol City.

18 of their 24 points have been picked up at home, with the only defeat in the last five at Fratton Park also coming against Bristol City.
