Ramside Hall, Durham suffered security data breach

On Wednesday (December 24), Ramside Hall said that a system operated by a third-party had suffered a security breach, and said that other venues across the world had been hit with the same issue.

The breach was first reported after several Ramside customers reported receiving WhatsApp messages asking them to confirm details and send payment.

The luxury venue on the outskirts of Durham has asked customers not to click on any links they are sent and instead contact the hotel directly.

A spokesperson for Ramside Hall said: “The property management system we use, which is operated by a third party, has suffered a breach.

“This has not just affected Ramside but several other hotels globally as well.

“We want to fully reassure customers that none of their card details have been compromised, as they are held on a completely separate system.

“We would say to all our customers, if you receive this WhatsApp message, not to click on anything but to contact the hotel directly if you need any information confirming details.
