Reboot of detective series Lynley back on BBC tonight
A huge success, the crime drama ran for six series and helped boost the careers of its lead actors.
Nathaniel Parker played the aristocratic Lynley, with Sharon Small as his working-class sidekick DS Barbara Havers.
Now the characters are heading back to our screens tonight, this time played by Leo Suter and Sofia Barclay.
Once again, they have little in common, apart from a desire to see justice done.

Daniel Mays also appears as their boss, DCI Brian Nies, whose own insecurities mean he eyes Lynley with suspicion. The first case involves the murder of a wealthy landowner who may have been targeted due to his valuable collection of antiquities.
Lynley is a brilliant police detective but an outsider in the force – simply by virtue of his aristocratic upbringing. Havers is a sergeant with a maverick attitude. With seemingly nothing in common and against all odds, the mismatched duo of Lynley and Havers become a formidable team, bonded by their desire to see justice done. His brain and her spirit – his knowledge and her instincts. It is only through working side by side do they both find where they truly belong.

Elizabeth George, author of the Inspector Lynley novels, also serves as executive producer. Her books have been translated into over 30 languages and were previously adapted into The Inspector Lynley Mysteries which ran on BBC One for six series from 2001 to 2007.
Lynley will air at 8.30pm tonight (Monday) on BBC 1.
