Robson Green’s Weekend Escapes series 4 returns next week
The new 15-part series begins on Monday, January 5, 2026, airing at 6.30pm on BBC Two, and sees the North East actor travelling across some of Britain’s most striking landscapes with a rotating cast of well-known guests.
Ahead of the new series, the TV star took to Instagram to say: “When we take roads less travelled, how many of us actually remember the experience?
“If we slow down for a while and take in the journey, the experience becomes something completely different.
“It becomes an extraordinary immersion into life, into experiencing the landscape, into experiencing your connection with your surroundings and your place within those surroundings.
“It’s like building a friendship with everything that surrounds you, extending the experience rather than shrinking it.”
Each episode pairs Green with a guest for a short break built around shared experiences, from outdoor adventures to quiet, hands-on activities.
This series features one of the strongest line-ups yet, mixing sport, music, television and faith figures, including:
- Alan Shearer exploring Northumberland
- The Rev Richard Coles on the Northumberland coast
- Gail Porter in the Cairngorms
- Chris Kamara in the North York Moors
- KT Tunstall in Fife and St Andrews
- Mark Benton road-tripping through East Lothian
- Jo Joyner horse riding in Northumberland
- Sheli McCoy (Gladiator Sabre) exploring Fife
- Steph Houghton enjoying Teesdale
- JJ Chalmers in Perthshire
- Rishi Nair visiting Northumberland National Park
Family also plays a big role, with Robson joined by his brother David Green and uncle Matheson Green in several episodes, including a Highland pack-horse trip and a creative pheasant-feather painting session.
Locations range from the Northumberland coastline and Teesdale in County Durham to the Scottish Highlands, Fife, Perthshire, East Lothian and the Cairngorms, with each episode offering a mix of scenery, conversation and adventure.
The series is produced by Riversmeet Productions for the BBC, in partnership with Signpost Entertainment and Banijay Group.
